United Scientific Recall Their Horseshoe Magnets Due To High Levels Of Lead In Paint

The number of recalls due to violation of lead paint standard is ever-growing. United Scientific have recently issued a recall of their Horseshoe Magnets due to the high levels of lead on the surface paint.

153,000 units of the magnets have been recalled. Those involved include horseshoe-shaped magnets sold in five different sizes. The product numbers are SHM020 (2 inch), SHM030 (3 inch), SHM040 (4 inch), SHM 050 (5 inch) and SHM060 (6 inch).

The magnets were sold by independent distributors nationwide from March 1995 through September 2007 for around $1. They were also sold to schools.

It is advised that consumers stop using the products immediately and contact United Scientific for a replacement product.
You can call United Scientific (888) 284-8570 or e-mail consumeraffairs@unitedsci.com

It seems like there is a new product recall everyday. I am especially concerned about all the recalls on children’s toys and household products. I set up a personal file that alerts me to all product recalls and it sends me a timely notice when one of my products has been recalled.
