Amazon pays $3.98M for The Tales of Beedle the Bard: by J.K. Rowling

Amazon have paid out a massive $3.98M for a hand-written book by J.K. Rowling, the book titled The Tales of Beedle the Bard. The book is a collection of fairy tales and is the writers’ final farewell to her famous Harry Potter series of books. The book is actually form the final book from the Harry Potter series and was given to Hermione by Dumbledore, which could be used to help defeat Lord Voldermort.

According to mashable.com The Tales of Beedle the Bard was only expected to fetch about $100,000, so it was a huge surprise that is actually went for $3.98 million. There was seven copies of the book, six of which J.K. Rowling gave to her friends. All money made from the book will be going to Children’s Voice, a charity that was co-founded by Rowling.
