Fairytale Book By JK Rowling sells For £1.95million

A Fairytale book The Tales of Beedle the Bard by Harry Potter author JK Rowling has sold for £1.95million at auction.

Six rivals competed at Sotheby’s in central London for the book which hardly anyone has been allowed to read.

JK Rowling said that “I am stunned and ecstatic. It means Christmas has come early for me.”

The book was bought by retail website Amazon as a thank you to JK Rowling.

All proceeds go to JK Rowling’s charity Children’s Voice.

The book is one of seven written and illustrated by Rowling the other six went to friends.
