Knight Rider is back in February: KITT to be played by Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR

NBC have finally announced that the cult 80’s show Knight Rider will return to our screens for a new series. The show will return in February 17th 2008, there are to be a number of changes to the show but the two major ones is that David Hasselhoff will play an old Michael Knight but the big news is that KITT will be played by a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR instead of the old Firebird, the voice to KITT will be played by Will Arnett.

According to Auto Blog the new series of KITT will have three different cars that they will use for different scenes in the show, the first is a 540-hp standard version which is used for all the normal scenes, then there will be a high-speed version which has body amour for the KITT Attack mode, and finally we have the Remote version of KITT. The cool thing with the new KITT is that nanotechnology allows the car to change both its shape and color.
