Josh Lucas Signs On To God’s Spy

Josh Lucas has signed on to star in God’s Spy, the UK-Canadian thriller by Andy Morahan. The film is reportedly based on the events that culminated in finding Italian banker Roberto Calvi’s body hanging under London’s Blackfriars Bridge in 1982.

The movie starts filming next year in Montreal and also stars Jordi Molla, Peter O’Toole and Giancarlo Giannini. Morahan will be filming from a script by Brian Phelan.

Lucas will play a young Wall Street trader who is actually a Jesuit Priest working undercover in order to gain experience of the financial markets. He finds himself caught up in a shady political and financial conspiracy involving the Vatican Bank, the CIA, the Mafia and Masonic Lodge P2.
