There are also two types of soft-top to choose from, one is a semi-automatic system and a fully automatic system, both of which have a high-pressure pump with two hydraulic cylinders to help move the fabric roof up and down. The roof in the 2008 Audi A3 Cabriolet has been soundproofed, so that there is only 1dB difference in noise from the hard top version.

The body in the Audi A3 has been reinforced to counter the lack of roof, this gives the vehicle extra strength. For a more detailed report and a video of the 2008 Audi A3 Cabriolet in action visit Paul Tan.
