credit for their song writing skills.
It’s said that McFly’s Tom Fletcher has claimed that his band don’t get enough credit for their song writing skills.

Tom said that he believes that if more established music writers like Gary Barlow or Guy Chambers had written their hits, they would be received as classics.

In an interview Tom said that “I’m definitely not mentioned in the same breath as people like that. Because I’m part of a band people perceive my song writing skills in the same way they do the group and that is to frown upon them both. People are really snobbish about it. If Guy Chambers had written all our songs people would really praise him. I’ve no doubt about that. Someone once said to me that if Oasis had done ‘Room on the Third Floor’ it would have been heralded as one of the greatest songs of all time. I said to them, ‘You could be right’. I see our music like that.”
