BSkyB Chairman Rupert Murdoch to step down
Rupert Murdoch who it the chairman of BSkyB is to step-down and his son James who has been the Chief Executive Officer since November 2003 is to take over and become Non-Executive Chairman. Murdoch’s son will also head up the News Corporation’s European and also Asian operations. Jeremy Darroch will take over from James as Chief Executive Officer.

According to Sky News Rupert said that they have achieved the progress in BSkyB that they was aiming for, and this is thanks to his team Jeremy and James, Murdoch also added that he is confident that they will continue with the same pace in the industry. In only the first quarter of 2007 BSkyB added 83,000 net new subscribers with an 11% rise in revenue taking it to £1.18bn.
