Mathieu Amalric Confirmed As Villain In Bond 22

We’ve been waiting for ages to find out which villain Bond will face in Bond 22 and now we can finally say that the rumours from last week stating that Mathieu Amalric would play the villain have finally been confirmed. We have our Bond villain guys!

Amalric spoke to Empire yesterday but didn’t reveal any details about the type of baddie he will play. He said,

“I will, it’s true. I play the villain, yes. James Bond. It has to do with childhood, you know? To be a villain in James Bond is just so funny. I never dreamt about that. It’s not what I want to do with my career. It’s just that I have kids and it’s so funny to do that. But it doesn’t mean that I’m not going to do a very small French film for free with my friends.”

He sounds like the perfect villain for Bond. A little crazy - check, foreign - check, great actor - check (The Diving Bell and The Butterfly confirm it). Plus, I think it would be great if he was the boyfriend Eva Green referenced to in Casino Royale.

So, the villain rumours have been laid to rest. Next up - the Bond Girl! Who do you think will be gracing Bond’s arm in Bond 22? I hope the rumours that Amy Winehouse is the Bond Girl for Bond 22 are true - it would be awesome to see her on the silver screen.
