Know Which Sites Are Safe Before You Click

A new reputation site called Web of Trust has been launched. The idea of the site is to get it’s community to rate websites that they comes across. Similar to StumbleUpon, the Web of Trust consists of software which you download which gives you a browser add-on so you can report sites as and when you view them.

In the WOT there are 4 different sections: trust worthiness, vendor reliability, privacy and child safety. The software which you download from WOT will instantly tell you when you’re going to visit a dangerous site. Unlike others, the warning from WOT will come as once you’ve typed in the URL for the suspect site.

The Web Of Trust relies purely on the input of others, so it means that the more you rate, the better the site gets. To take advantage of WOT’s services you’ll need to become a member and download the software.
