Steve Carr, director behind Daddy Day Care is reported to have signed on to helm ‘Mall Cop’ for Columbia. The movie follows the story of a mild-mannered security guard (played by Kevin James) who finds himself at the centre of the action when his mall is taken over by a group of highly-organized thieves.
The script was written by Kevin James and Nick Bakay. Back in October it was polished by Steve Pink to make sure it was perfect before the writer’s strike. Writing the script and starring in the film clearly isn’t enough for James, as he is also producing alongside Jeff Sussman and Todd Garner.
Steve Carr, who recently directed “Are We Done Yet?” hasn’t had much luck with movies - I mean, did anyone actually enjoy Daddy Day Care? Hopefully Mall Cop will be one of his best movies yet.
