Sir Ben Kingsley Signs On To Shutter Island

Martin Scorsese is known for his fabulous cast. Take The Departed for instance, Scorsese offered us DiCaprio, Damon, Nicholson, Baldwin, Wahlberg and Sheen! We really couldn’t ask for anything else! But now, it seems he’s packing the cast in for his latest film, Shutter Island.

Shutter Island is a thriller based on a novel by Dennis Lehane about two US Marshals who travel to an isolated island off Boston in order to search for an escaped murderess. They then become trapped on the Island by a hurricane and a riot at the Island’s mental hospital. Wow! What bad luck!

The cast is already impressive, with Leonardo DiCaprio as Teddy Daniels and Mark Ruffalo as his partner Chuck Aule but Scorsese’s managed to make it even better with the one and only Sir Ben Kingsley!

Sir Ben has been signed on to play the hospital’s chief physician J. Cawley. Not you’re usual physician, Cawley hides plenty of dark secrets. Sounds like a perfect role of Kingsley!

There are a few roles yet to be cast, but we can only imagine what stars the uber-director will be signing onto the film!
