I guess almost everyone on the planet has heard about Madeleine McCann, the mysterious disappearing child, but is there really still a chance she is alive?

Madeleine is probably the most ever looked for person, with all the media attention is there really still a chance that the little girl is still alive?
As we have also seen Gerry and Kate McCann going backwards and forwards in the investigation, this has raised eyebrows.

Well here are some questions I think you should ask yourself:

  • 1) Why did she get more media attention than other missing children before her?
  • 2) When do we say enough is enough, and stop looking?
  • 3) If Madeleine McCann is still alive, with this much media attention is it not impossible for her not to be found?

And here are some questions for you…

    Do you have children?

If so - when would you stop looking and decide when enough is enough?

If not - then I suggest you try and empathise with the parents and ask yourself:

Could you ever give up knowing there have been incidences if children being found years later

    What if she is alive?

What price do you put on the life of a child?

How many missing children have been taken by estranged parents?

Are you a ‘cup half full’ or a ‘cup half empty person’

If you can answer these questions, you are half way to answering the ones you have posed. I know what my answers are.

I am not sure what it is you are asking here…. what amount of time searching and raising media attention is too much for an innocent child that through no fault of her own was abducted/ murdered/ wandered to own fate.
No one should ever give up looking ….what would you do if it were your child or gran child missing….walk a mile in those shoes and you will find all the answers you need.
Please don’t give up on any missing children…even if they are not called Madeleine…no one says she is more important…but that doesn’t make her less important either.

The reason Madeline’s case has received so much publicity, in my opinion, is due to her family’s status, that is, class. When Ben Needham went missing, The Times did not publish one story about his case during the first crucial week of his disappearance (July 25 1991-3 August=not one story), whereas Madeline has donned the front page of every newspaper across Britain, not to mention Ireland, Portugal and Spain. What do you think? If you have an opinion on this, could you email me, as I am doing this for my dissertation for university: “Does class distinguish how newsworthy a ‘missing child’ story is?” Mail me your profession and opinion. fagannicola@yahoo.co.uk

Shut up with the stop looking blaa blaa, If my child Portugal would look like a war Zone, I would be in jail and creating the worst head ache they would throw me out. Never stop looking, never stop hunting these bastards down otherwise we give in to bullshit stadistic behaviour. No way go the McCann’s get your daughter back and if we all support instead of banter it may just be your child we save next.. Think about it.. NEVER GIVE UP FIGHTING FOR THESE LOST CHILDREN, CLOSE THE PLAY GROUND FOR THESE SICK PEOPLE.

I agree, Madeleine is important and the search should go on. I also hope that in searching for Madeleine someone may find other lost children and their abductors in the process.

    3) It would be great if the amount of media attention could help find her, but the reality is she was taken by someone with CRIMINAL INTENT - this person most likely is petrified by the media attention.

    2) The search for Madeleine should NEVER end until she is found - as with ALL missing children.

    1) Maybe you need to ask yourself WHY she has received so much media attention - maybe for increased traffic to websites, and more readership of newspapers? Gosh, do you think she’s being used by people who don’t really care, to make money?

  7. nayshiftin says:

It may be that the McCanns have been so honest about how she went missing.

It SHOUTS a message to all parents who may think of doing the same.

They have opened a website for others too.

    Don’t be so nasty.

I do not know The McCanns but I would do anything I could to help.

A gift of life is precious not anything that cn be valued by how much etc.

The McCanns needs are……………just Madeleine at the moment.

could not have said it better myself.
how could you ask someone to stop looking for their child, the mccanns made a mistake but at the end of the day we the public aren’t saying anything to them that they havn’t said to themselfs, and you could lock them up and trowaway the key it couldn’t hurt them any worst. maddie is out there and she needs to be found as a mother if my child was to go missing i will move heaven and earth to find her which is exactly what the mccanns are doing. say what ever you want, but i say that the love of 2 parents who want their daughter back more that anything. never gave up kate & gerry. you have to be strong for maddie she’s a little angel and believe me i know it may not seems so at the moment but the lord’s with her and he’s with you and he knows how much you need you child home and he will make that possible. keep praying pray long and really hard and he will answer.
i’ve been telling everyone to keep their eyes open my friends in germany are going to russia to study and i have asked them to keep their eyes open.
    The Smith in Barbados
i will look for her in my part of the world.

  9. Ftuley says:

I tell you when to stop looking….When the sick, revolting animal that took her have the heart to give her back, but he is merciless so that will not happen! That’s why the search must go on. I hope she is found soon.
All paedophiles should be killed not just thrown in jail for a while, if everytime they caught one they gave him a Lethal injection all this kids wouldn`t go missing like this. It could be a better world.

  10. Nicola says:

Maya Leila Mahmoud, aged 1, missing since 24 March 2007. Dorothy Powell, now aged 9, missing since 16 August 2007. Minh Anh Nguyen, aged 11 months, missing since 20 April 2007. Ying Lee, aged 3 now, missing since 26 September 2006. Nassima Sadia, now aged 8, missing since 20 April 2006.

These are British children who went missing and barely got any coverage in British newspapers. Why? I am not saying Madeline McCann’s life is not worth anything, of course it is, I would be heartless to suggest otherwise. I have a little sister the same age as Madeline and would hate the idea of her going missing. But this wouldn’t even be an issue if she had not been left alone. Horrible thing to say, but true. It was also not the first time the children were left alone- the McCanns and the same group of friends stayed at another Mark Warner complex in Greece a few months previous to their holiday in Praia da Luz and they left their children alone in that complex too, while they dined.(O’Toole, p.4 “Maddie”) I am not suggesting that the police give up looking for Madeline or those who took her, if that is the case, but what I am asking is why did her case get more media attention than Ben Needhams?? Can anyone give me a credible answer?
