Xbox 360’s RROD made up by jokers: you kidding me

RROD
I always respect everyone’s opinion as we all have one, but when a gamer comes onto Product Reviews and states that the RROD (red ring of death) problem on the Xbox 360 is just made up by jokers…well that is the real joke.

The anonymous person did not even leave their name:
I used to be a Sony supporter in the gaming division but not anymore. I really don’t know individuals that are affected by the the RROD. I think it’s jokers that chose to treat the 360 like a PS2 and plop it anywhere including carpet. Just like it’s not wise to put a CPU on carpet or somewhere not well-ventilated, the same holds true for this generation’s gaming consoles. My main beef doesn’t even have anything to do with this joker’s article. My beef is with the developers charging $60 for games. I thought this nonsense might last 1 year. It’s time gamers unite and force these characters to drop the prices. The only good games I’ve played so far this generation are Assassin’s Creed, Mass Effect, COD4 and the rest were aiight at most. I can’t speak for Halo 3 or that utopian one (can’t think of the name) mainly cause I stay away from FPS except COD.

So if your like me and have been affected by the RROD on your 360 can we show the world that its not nice to call people jokers who have had this painful problem.

So tell the world, is RROD real or a joke?

    I’ve only known one person who had the RRoD problem out of the 30 people i know who own xbox’s, but he was able to fix it quite simply by wrapping his xbox 360 around a towel. Also, with the new falcon chip, RRoDs are no longer an issue. That’s probably why the guy was so skeptical of the RRoD and thought that people were joking around. I have both the 360 and ps3 in my room and I can tell you that the 360 is better overall *given that you have the new 360’s. :)

    The Xbox 360 is a technical nightmare full of bad programming. The PLAYSTATION 3 is perfect no one in EARTH has had any problem, unlike the Crapbox 180. We (Xbox) only one type of game FPS, We PS3 owners enjoy a huge massive libray of PERFECT games own by us aka Sony. Microsoft doesn’t even care about comsumers only the XBOX LIVE one cuzz they stupid enough to pay for a useless lag night server. http://www.scea.com # 1 4 LiFe Xbox 360 SUCKS big time…

    Falcon chip-equipped 360’s just recently started being manufactured, but there’s still plenty of the 90nm out on store shelves and those have to sell too.

    If the manufacture date on the box is after August 2007, you might be safe.

    There is also another reason we hear so much about RRod, am I know a few people that have done this ( They say for fun ). Is just write a comment on a website saying they are on there 7th or 8th Xbox. Whet they mean is they have a PS3 and think it is a good way to hit back at Xbox… :), So I have always thought the problem may have been over rated. But I think we will never know :)

    I have personally experienced the RROD and it is not a good thing at all. The Xbox 360 just gets too hot. If I play for 2 hours the xbox will heat my whole room, it crazy. When the xbox gets to hot the gpu overheats an it causes a complete system failure.
    And I got a chip so I cant send it back to microsoft :(

  6. Chris on December 3rd, 2007 2:45 pm

    @Ala

    And that is good. Why have it chipped if not to play coppied games. Maybe MS may get all the $1B back with people not chipping there xbox’s, becaues if it RRoD’s and its chipped you can’t have it repaired. Some may say that it has worked out good for MS. No need to spend $millions on stopping chipping, this seems to have worked wonders, look on ebay at all the Xbox’s with the RRoD. Why sell on ebay if you could just send back to MS, unless it is chipped. I would say serves them right, what they have saved on buying games they can spend on buying new xbox’s :)

    @Ivan_psp

    I take it you have a PS3 :). I bet you are still bitter that you have to use it as a door wedge still. I can see why you are against the Xbox, it is human nature to be jealous of better things. But really all you have to do is dust of the PS3 put it on ebay ( Yes I know you will looses a lot of money, But you have to take that on the chin and put it down to experience). Then go out and buy a 360, yes I know you may have a problem with the large number of games, but with time like all 360 gamers you get use to that. Take it home and have lots of fun. But please don’t feel guilty for the poor person how brought your PS3, they will one day see the light and that PS3 will pass to another poor sole :)

    I see this site still relies on RROD stories to ignite fanboy arguments in order to get it’s quota of comments, long after most other sites have given up on milking it.
    I know about a dozen people including myself who own 360’s, mostly bought around launch time (UK) and none of us have had the problem but that’s not important, the point is everybody knows that there was a problem and that MS extended the warranty, the only people still making a big issue out of it are most likely,

    A) Lazy websites looking for an easy way to get traffic.
    B) Sony fanboys who don’t want the story to die.
    C) Owners of chipped 360’s who can’t get their units replaced.

    Some people still don’t believe the holocaust really happened but they are not worth writing about, neither is this story unless you belong to one of the above categories, my guess would be A.

    I sent one back with RROD got one back. Now I’m sending that one in with RROD. I hope I get back the new design with HDMI because in theory those don’t have the RROD. The $1 billion set asside I hope is to reclaim all old models and only have HDMI models out in the world.

    Being an online multi user player I have three 360 and would say that all have gone back for RROD. The returned ones have been working well up until this point and that one went dead.

    Out of all the people I play with on xbox live….never heard of anyone with a RROD xbox. I think all the pissed off Sony fanboys are mad because the PS2 is still rolling the PS3.

    RRoD is quite real to me when I have to pay up USD 379 for it. Several days after a new unit was bought, it RRoD. I have browse through Xbox Forum and I can see how people was hunting Falcon CPU. Microsoft trying to dominate the Game Market like they did for OS, and you know how many people in the world are against that. I would support MS Xbox 360 if there were no 30% return rate, but I am one of the statistics. So, I encourage all Xbox 360 users out there, throw it away, as it really really sucks.

    The Xbox 360 is Microsoft’s biggest mistake is already hacked so most people just download the games from file sharing programs lol. They lost 1 billion to fix the technical failures that the 360 causes consumers. The Xbox 360 was rushed that is why it has a %75 chance that is going to either die on you or blow up and cause death by fire again. All this is for Microsoft trying to get some they lost from the second biggest failure the original Xbox in 2008 Microsoft is going to get own by by Sony Corp. and Google we are going to clean are asses with them. I will never sell my PS3s Xbox just is technical nightmare money spent on a bad crappy wannabe video game console. PS3 will always be #1 and better then any one. PS3=God

  13. BD on December 26th, 2007 7:58 pm

    Well I have both and yes I have had to return my 360 there costumer service was crap and it took 2 months to get the dam thing back. I believe that it is fixed now but anyone who is willing to stand behind MS and say they sold me an Item that was not rushed and over price deserves to get there console shoved were the sun don’t shine. You are the real joke and your a worthless tool that should not be aloud to use there fingers for typing or mouth for speaking.
