BMW tests IP solution for cars
That’s right, BMW are now testing an IP networked iDrive car which will give an IP solution that lets a central computer have car components connected to it using a standard Ethernet connection.

The developers are hoping this test will help lower costs thanks to the IPv6 protocol’s future-proof design and the physical component cost.

This same IP network may also be used for safety features…so it must be a good connection.
