Nintendo Wii’s Stepmania vs DDR (Dance Dance Revolution)

By: Daniel Chubb | November 30, 2007 | 4 Comments

Nintendo Wii Stepmania

Stepmania for the Nintendo Wii has had mixed views from gamers, but most gamers do find that Stepmania is in a word “horrible”.

I have heard some people even go as far as calling Stepmania, “for the lazy people who don’t want to play DDR”.

Dance Dance Revolution

It is hard to even compare to Dance Dance Revolution as millions of arcade fans and gamers have had hours of fun on DDR, Stepmania does not have my kind of music but it’s a cool concept.

Very nice. If you find some usefull link for this script or modification, then I’ll glad to test it on my own.

I try something like this almost year ago (shortly after Wii comes out). Some materials, scripts and video are here:

….? stepmania made a wii game?
who are these people that badmouth stepmania because it’s not ddr? Most people use Stepmania for the PC to practice all DDR songs. there are near endless songs for stepmania because they are made by fans, and people have gotten good at it, creating “perfect” versions of the entire DDR collection, as well as thousands of other stepfiles. and just as with the original console game, there are superbly made dance pads for serious use, but with nearly no step latency. look into it, yo.

Uh, lol, I didn't know such a thing existed. I would try it out, seems fun :D (go go DDR!!)
..but I'll stay at my dance mat. And yeah, you can say SM is for "lazy people" if they only play it with keyboard (btw still good for practicing) but as vashuyasha said earlier most of us use it to dance pads.
