We’ve seen many recalls this year due to violation of Lead Paint Standard and it seems that Holiday Ornaments are also effected. Reeves International Inc., along with The U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled their 2006 Snow Princess Stirrup Ornaments, 2007 Holiday Stirrup Ornaments and 2007 Photo Frame Horse Shoe Ornaments.
Around 36,000 units of the above have been recalled as the surface paints used on the ornaments contain high levels of lead, which violate the federal lead paint standards. There haven’t been any injuries as of yet but it is advised that consumers immediately stop using the ornaments.
The ornaments were available to buy at various retailers, including JC Penny catalog and Web site from July 2006 through October 2007 for around $15 and $18.
