Lazy Lounger Chairs which were sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods have been recalled by both the company and The U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission after reports of a collapsing hazard.
125,000 of the chairs have been recalled after it was found that the plastic support brackets can break, causing the chairs to collapse. There have been 19 reports of the collapsed chairs and recliners with 17 injuries involving lacerations and back pains.
The recall involves the Lazy Lounger chair (Style # CEH00415), recliner (Style # CEH00320) and oversize recliner (Style # CEH00414, CEH00345 and CEH00443). You can find the style numbers on the packaging.
The chairs were available to buy at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide and www.dickssportinggoods.com from February 2006 to August 2007. It has been advised that consumers stop using the chairs and recliners immediately and contact Dick’s Sporting Goods for a free repair kit.
