This video is an unofficial Blu-ray ad which I found very funny, I remember many of the old players (Betamax, Laser Disc and 8 track players) and just like Apple does to Microsoft…HD DVD R.I.P 2007 and Blu-ray wins the high definition battle.
Well that’s the message the video creator is having fun with, but the fact is if there will be one outright winner I would imagine we will not see that to at least the end of 2008.
Some people say “Blu-ray holds MUCH more than is really needed”, I feel this is a good thing and the fact that Blu-ray is standard in the Sony PS3 is going to help matters greatly.

Ironically, that exactly where a lot of Blu Ray Disc players will end up when their owners realize it can’t perform any of the interactive features that HD DVD can…
Its sad to see people make some stupid predictions. its already 2007 and HD DVD is still kicking ass. By the way, did you know that more gigabytes doesn’t always equal more content?? I really hope people figure this out VERY soon…
The video was humorous and hopefully true. I’m banking on blu-ray since I have a PS3, but I fear the deep pockets of Microsoft.
“Blu-ray holds MUCH more than is really needed”
that sound like when bill gates say that nobody will ever need more than 512kb
I don’t buy movies to play the silly little interactive games or to have a picture-in-picture window with the director giving commentary. I buy movies to have the movie experience in my own home. So, as for Hi-Def, I’m simply looking for high quality video and audio. The extras are nice, but hardly utilized. And Blu-Ray’s interactive features are good enough for those extras that a minority of people even notice.
Kraig, don’t fear the deep pockets of Micro$haft, fear the total incompetence of Sony.
