Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Live Gains A Social Networking Platform

Xbox 360 owners should expect a system update on December 4th. The update will unlock a social networking feature, “Friends of Friends”. The update will mean that several levels of visibility of your friend list will be seen by others. If you’re aged 13 and over, you will be able show your friends who else is on your list, hence the friends of friends title. However, if you’re under thirteen the friend lists will be blocked.

Microsoft has said in a recent press release that the feature can be used to “find old friends or connect with new ones within the community of more the eight million people.” Ok, so not exactly par with Facebook on the numbers front but I’m sure it has the potential to become a great feature for Xbox Live.
