MacBook hard drives flawed: 7.0.1 Seagate has fatal defect
There are some rumors going around that some MacBook hard drives could have flawed hard drives, according to a report by UK data-recovery firm Retrodata the hard drive that has the fatal defect are the 7.0.1 Seagate which was manufactured in China.

The flawed hard drives have a problem with their read/write heads as they can become detached from the slide that runs across the surface of the platters, this makes recovery impossible. Apple has said that they have only received a few reports of this problem, however Retrodata feel that Apple should issue a recall.

It might be that Apple says that they only received a few of those drives, but if you search on Google for this “MacBook Seagate 7.01″ it is quite plain that they are being economic with the truth.

Backup your data NOW. Then find out if you have this harddrive! Then replace it immediately. It WILL fail! It is only a matter of time!

I didn’t, and I lost data BIG time!
