What’s Your Best Movie?

28 days later was an instant hit with moviegoers and has become Danny Boyle’s best known movie. The plot follows the story of the breakdown of society after a highly contagious virus was accidentally released and focuses on the struggle of four survivors to cope with the devastation.

The film was so popular it spawned a sequel, cleverly titled 28 Weeks Later. This time around, the movie was set six months after the Rage virus spread through London. The US Army was sent in to restore order and they proceed to repopulate the city. A carrier of the virus re-enters London, sending the city in a downward spiral.

Both movies are brilliant, and it’s hard to watch one without having seen the other but what I want to know is, which is your favourite out of the two movies? I loves 28 weeks but the original is definitely the best in my view.

What is your best movie - 28 Days Later or 28 Weeks Later?

28 Weeks Later is the much better movie. The first one started out strong, but once the story moved to the army base, the plot lost direction and momentum. It became not about the rage virus and the rage zombies but how human decency breaks down when isolated in a siege situation. Yawn - I’ve already seen Lord of the Flies if you don’t mind. A zombie movie should stay focused on the good stuff - zombies and how to kill them! 28 weeks later sticks to task and is riveting right up to the end!
