Steve Fossett Dead: wife asks court to declare legally

Steve Fossett

We have covered a lot of news about Steve Fossett being missing in September of this year, we reported breaking news about the aviation adventurer going missing on September 4th and the last piece of news we covered was when the search for Steve Fossett was set to end on September 19th.

Well today Chicago Tribune is reporting that Steve Fossett’s wife (Peggy Fossett) is asking a court to have him found legally dead.

Peggy Fossett believes her husband died when his plane disappeared over the Nevada desert in September.

This is a tragic story which I can remember from day one, which is coming up to 3 months ago in December.

You can understand that Peggy wants to move on, but it must be hard when he has not been found.

Do you think the fact that a court petition said “Steve Fossett’s wealth surpasses eight figures in liquid assets, real estate and various entities” changes anything?

I think that with that much in assets its difficult to run your life when she probably can’t make any big financial decissions with out him being there to sign off on paper work. If the courts find him legally dead she might be able to have more authority over the estate which is presumably half hers anyway.
