Currently it has not been confirmed if the Mac OS X versions of QuickTime are safe or not, alerts from US-CERT and Symantec Corp are saying that attackers are directing users to specially-crafted streaming content on compromised or malicious web sites.
They are also sending emails that have a rigged QTL file, if the user opens the QuickTime file then they are open to exploit.
Mac Daily News reports that if the attacker manages to successfully exploit your computer then they can install additional spyware and malware.
