Ron Paul gets fraudulent donations and bank refunds money

It has been reported that identity thieves have used debit cards to make fraudulent donations to the Ron Paul Presidential campaign. Campaign staffers working for U.S. Rep. Ron Paul said that they had noticed a few hundred $5 charges from many similar Internet addresses during the month of November. This was also noticed by security officials for San Antonio-based Frost Bank

According to Fox News fewer than a hundred cards had these unauthorized charges on them, and less that 500 cards were affected. Frost Bank has since refunded the money and has canceled these cards. Officials at the bank think that these identity thieves might have used the Ron Paul campaign just as a tester to see if these cards were valid before they moved on to purchasing much larger items.
