Sony, Fuji and Maxell are a bit lighter in the pocket, as the EU (European Commission) has fined them 75 million Euros, that about $108. The fines were part of the price fixing videotapes scandals. All three companies were found guilty of raising or controlling prices between 1999 and 2002.
According to the guardian.co.uk this decision from the EU has now sent two warnings to any companies who thought that they could get away with breaking the law like this. Sony was the biggest loser from the fine, as their fine was about 30% more due to them trying to cover up the investigation.
