Ron Paul’s Presidential Campaign Donations: where is the money going

If you are looking for a presidential candidate who is tight with your money, then I would have to say that Ron Paul is your man as he has raised millions of dollars in campaign donations but according to Leslie Wayne from thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com, he has only used up 46 percent of every dollar raised.

The blog also points out that other candidates who do not raise as much supply posters and yard signs to supports, where Ron Paul asks his supporters to make their own, and that is at their own cost that is just not right. However if people are ok with this, then good luck too them.

You would have thought that the huge pro-Paul billboard that is at the Des Moines airport would have been paid for by the Ron Paul campaign fund, but it has in fact been paid for by a supporter.

If you have donated to the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign Fund, what would you like to see your money spent on?

Personally, I’d like to see my money used in television and radio advertising… many people consider yard signs to be eyesores. The only reason campaigns use them anyway is that they are inexpensive, and is exactly the reason that Ron Paul supporters don’t mind making/paying for them in the first place. They support their candidate THAT much, they don’t need or expect “hand outs.”

I’ve never heard of Dr. Paul asking supporters to make their own signs, however a great number of us have been willing to do so because we believe that the cause of his campaign is important enough to be worth it.

Ron Paul is spending his money on radio and TV ads and hiring staff . That is what I want him to do with the money I donated- and I will continue to donate more and more.

He has doubled his poll numbers in New Hampshire. He has cash on hand and with the debates coming up and his December Tea Party money bomb – his poll numbers will double again. And remember poll numbers will underestimate his true position in the race-most old folks sitting around talking to pollsters -with Faux News on in the background- are not going to be Ron Paul voters – yet.

Ron Paul can win this thing .

How can you make a judgment that it is not correct. If he is to win he must not frivolously give away money that people have donated to him.

The only thing I want to see him do with the money is gain more supporters and to win at each and every step. Not more and certainly not less.

The people have done a great job on this campaign and so has Paul and his staff. The fact that they have allowed people to organize themselves and do more by themselves show just how resourceful people really are. It also goes along with his message of limited government maybe you are starting to see what the power of limited government can achieve and this is just what the power of a limited campaign can achieve.

“Darth Vader” as he marveled at Luke Skywalker “Impressive”. So is Ron Paul and his message.

Dr. Paul does have his own signs that were made by his campaign. People are so impressed with the Doc that they use their own time and money to promote the good doctor. Why? ron paul is a modern day thomas jefferson. ron paul’s political views are the same as president jefferson’s. so if you like being free, and want to see the federal government shrink vote ron paul

Wherever Paul feels it is best applied. So far that has been TV and radio adds, while fellow supporters take care of sighns/billboards. Though let me point out Paul never asked his supporters to make all these sighns. We do it on our on initiative. To support him, and to support the message.

I’ve gotten dozens of signs for free from the campaign. They don’t give them out to anonymous people from the campaign website, but if you get involved, the materials flow freely. This makes sense to me.

  • Joe

I have personally made many signs, brochures and cards — none of which Ron Paul’s campaign has every asked me to do. We do it because we believe in the cause.

We make donations to his campaign as well in the hopes that he use them for larger expenditure items such as TV and Radio ads.

We all do our part to spread the word about restoring constitutional liberty back to our country.

  • Brad

I would like to see him spend the money on what ever he feels would further the cause best.

I hope to give him the “Keys” to the nation. I trust his judgment.

  • Brian

Paul needs to hire better campaign strategists who’ll fight the guilt-by-association racist garbage being waged against him. Kent Snyder is a joke.

  • Rolland

I trust Ron Paul to use the money wisely. He has been doing so as a public servant for 20 years; I can’t think of a single other politician that can make that claim.

  • Rizz

Ron Paul does NOT and has NEVER asked his supporters to create their own signs. We do so without any prompting from the campaign. The Ron Paul “movement” is a grassroot effort and we all gladly pitch in to help where we can, whether it be with our time or our signmaking skills. I personally prefer that he use the money for media advertising. He has a message of freedom and plan for individual prosperity that needs to be heard. I think most of us have forgotten what the U.S. is all about. It’s time to restore our Bill of Rights, get our country in shape financially and shrink federal government dramatically.:)

    Peter,
Please provide citations. To my knowledge, Ron Paul has never asked supporters to create their own signs in lieu of having actual campaign signs. Just last week I was contacted by the Des Moines, Iowa Ron Paul branch and they volunteered to send me some signs. True, the campaign is frugal with their money (but isn’t that smart?). Supporters, over and over, are willing to volunteer and help offset those costs…after all, it behooves us.
