MySpace Set To Support Ad-Supported Music

Textango has partnered with MySpace in order to bring free music to the masses. The promotion, similar to the one seen with Radiohead, means by adding Textango as a friend on MySpace you can download Punk Band Pennywise’s album and more for free.

This partnership will no doubt benefit the bands under MySpace’s own music label, which hasn’t seen much development in the past year. Bands have been marketing on sites like MySpace for a while now, by selling peripheral items like t-shirts. Now record labels are getting in on the fun too, it’s likely we’ll see new efforts for said record labels to change the way they make money.
