The ‘Flying Fish’ Environmentally Friendly Concept Boat

Designnobis Studio, a Turkish design firm, has revealed their new green concept boat, the Volitan. The Volitan is a lightweight, futuristic and environmentally boat which runs using solid sails, wind power and solar energy.

The name of the boat comes from a word meaning ‘flying fish’, which is quite fitting really. The functions of Volitan are controlled by a networked computer and the solid sails, fitted with solar cell panels, are used to harness both solar and wind energy.

If the sea gets too rough, the Volitan simply folds up the sails against the boat and is built to cruise through up to 60 knot winds.

As ‘going green’ is a popular trend in the world of celebrities, we think it’s only a matter of time before the uber-rich snap this one up.
