John C. Reilly Signs On To Cirque Du Freak

John C. Reilly has signed on to star in Cirque Du Freak, an adaptation of the children’s book series by Darren Shan. Reilly will play the lead vampire in the movie will be directed by Paul Weitz.
The film follows the story of a vampire who recruits a 14-year-old to be his half-vampire assistant. The boy then finds himself as a key part in the war between the vampires and the Vampanese.
Now, the movie sounds good, but my knowledge on the Vampanese is a little limited. Anyone care to enlighten me?

ive read a few of the books, and the vampaneze are another clan of vampires that believe in killing the people they feed on, while vampires heal the people with there spit after feeding on them. the vampaneze have red hair, eyes, and purple skin from all the blood they drink. vampires are good, vampaneze are bad haha

I have read all the books and the vampanese are brothers of the vampires, another clan for say. At one point a few vampires went apart from the vampire clan soonly creating the vampanese. The vampanese are vampires that kill when they feed, but in the process are also doing a ritual. They mark their pray by putting 3 marks on the left cheak.
What?!! How can you have an actor like John C. Reilly play the mysterious Larten Crepsley! Reilly is nothing how I imagined Larten, not even in the same ball park.
At least the Twilight producers got their characters right.

i agree that i dont think thats how i pictured him.
i have read all the book and i loved them i dont think the right actor was picked but its not the actor that counts its how the actor acts!
oh and if anyone is reading the darran shans there is a clue in the title of the last book i and really mad i didnt figure it out sooner!

I’m actually quite dissapointed with their choice of actors… That is not even a sliver of how I imagined Mr. Crepsley to appear like.
