A while back we reported that David Fincher and Joseph Kosinski were in final talks to direct a sequel to Disney’s 1982 cult classic Tron. The script was being written by Lost scribes Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. However, with the writers strike still in full swing, it’s not known how far they got.
Jeff Bridges, helmer of the original Tron movie has told Collider that he is scheduld to hear a pitch for the sequel soon,
“Why not to do it? The reasons to do it and the reason I did that one (The original Tron) was because it was so innovative and I understand that they’ve got a whole new batch of stuff like that, innovations that they want to use on this so that could be kind of fun.”
The film follows the story of a computer hacker and arcade owner who is split into molecules and is transported into a computer. In the computer he finds Master Control, a nasty program who behaves like a dictator. The hacker teams up with a book keeping program and his girlfriend to try and replace Master Control with TRON, a honest safety system.
