10-inch Eee PC model 1001: UMPC seen in the wild

A couple of weeks ago we visited the Stuff 2007 event and one of the products that we reviewed was the 7-inch Asus Eee PC model 701, well rumors of a 10-inch version has been all over the net and judging by these images from akihabaranews.com. The images clearly show that this is the new Eee PC model 1001 which has most of the same hardware as the 7-inch version.

The strange thing about this is the fact that Asus has not officially announced the news of the 10-inch Eee PC, even though we have now seen it in the wild. My wife wanted a small laptop, but now that there is a 10-inch version of the Asus Eee PC this is the one that I will be getting her.
