Back in September, we posted the news that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix would be released on both Blu-ray and HD DVD. Also available is the Harry Potter box set which, again will be released on both formats.
Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix was released on November 12th. The HD DVD and Blu-Ray release boasts razor-sharp, clear images with uncompressed, cinema quality surround sound. The Harry Potter experience has just got a whole lot better.
Both formats offer an array of extras. These include extra scenes and behind-the-scenes which will also be in high-definition. The HD DVD edition comes with “in-movie” technology. This will allow the viewer to watch the films cast share memorable moments and their own perspectives while the movie is running using picture-in-picture.
Not only that, but the HD DVD includes web-enabled features which allow Harry Potter fans to pick their favourite scenes, assemble them into a montage and create their own trailers. They can then upload them onto the internet via the HD DVD players internet connection.
The HD DVD disc offers so many more features than the Blu-Ray, but which of the formats will sell more? What do you think the outcome will be?
