Nike Football Helmet Chin Straps recalled: Risk of Serious Injury
Nike in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a voluntary recall of the Nike Football Helmet Chin Straps, they have recalled this item as the plastic strap can break which can then make contact with the wearers head or face causing serious injury.

It is thought that over 235,000 of these straps are affected, Nike has received 18 reports that the chin strap had broke two of which caused concussions, one received a broken nose and two reports of facial lacerations that required stitches.

As you would expect the Nike Football Helmet Chin Straps were made in China, so no surprise there then.
