Most Movie Screens Will Be Digital By 2013

Both Hollywood and Theater owners across the country are sure that Digital 3D will save the decline seen by the theater business. Thanks to Beowulf, the focus is certainly on this new technology so it’s likely more and more movies will be made using this technique.

DreamWorks Animation has previously said that each computer animated release after 2009 will be 3D. Variety have recently reported that half of all the worldwide screens will be digital by 2013. This comes after DreamWorks studio head Jeffrey Katzenberg predicted 12-18 3D movies per year in 2010.

The promise of more 3D movies is sure to entice more moviegoers to the cinemas. The only thing is I feel 3D movies will lose their value after we’ve seen 20 3D releases a year.
