The Ecobook From ASUS

Earlier this year, the news of ASUS’ Ecobook generated a lot of pre-release buzz. The Ecobook is set to be released in 2008 and will be the first laptop to be made out of real bamboo.

The ASUS’ Ecobook hopes it will be as environmentally friendly as possible with a target recyclable rate of 50%. The laptop will feature biodegradable bamboo around the keyboard, mouse pad and on the exteriors. The track pad will have a handwriting function allowing the user to user their fingers of stylus to enter text.

The PowerGear button will glow red or green depending on the amount of power being consumed. No word yet on the internal components.
