This weekend was a one of the best that O2 have seen in the few years that they have been in the mobile phone network business, as they have sold tens of thousands of the new Apple iPhone. What makes it even better for O2 is the fact they have signed many new customers to their network, and that means that they have taken customers away from people like Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile.
O2 CEO Peter Erskine has said “”The interest level has been absolutely phenomenal, making it the biggest selling phone ever for us, in one weekend”, he then went on to say “Footfall was three times higher than the same weekend last year.” This news is a major blow to the other networks in the UK, and they must hate it when they see an iPhone in the street as they know it will be on another network.
