Paul Verhoeven To Direct Sequel To The Thomas Crown Affair

In a recent interview with Dutch radio program “Met Het Oog Op Morgen”, Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct) announced that he will direct a sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair.

The sequel will be called The Topkapi Affair and will be based on the 1964 MGM film Topkapi and the novel is was based on by Eric Ambler, ‘The Light of the Day’.

The is reported that Pierce Brosnan has signed on to return to the film. Rene Russo will not be returning, however it is said that Angelina Jolie will replace her.
