160GB Iomega eGo
Hard drives do not have to look boring anymore; the current trend is for something a little more interesting. My current hard drive is over a year old and it sure looks old-school.

This is the 160GB Iomega eGo which is an external hard drive with curvaceous body, Reg Hardware got a hands-on with this sexy looking storage device and they sure loved its looks.

The eGo is sleek and comes in cherry red, blue, black and silver and finished off with chrome. Iomega also supply you with a free licence for the Windows only EMC Retrospect Express HD back-up software, you just download it for free from Iomega’s website.

The main eGo features include a weight of 220g, size of 135×90x20mm, no power brick needed as its USB powered, although having just a 5V power socket and USB connector is a bit limiting on the connections available.

The eGo also features DropGuard, this is similar to the read/write head-parking data protection technology in some laptops, Reg Hardware tested this by encouraging the eGo to fall off tables a few times etc…all worked fine after.
