Super Mario Galaxy Sells Over 250,000 In Just One Week.

Over in Japan Super Mario Galaxy has sold an out standing 251,000 units in its first week. The figure is smaller than the 265,000 copies of Mario Party 8 sold in it’s first week. Although the 250,000 figure is good, it comes no where near the bar set by Halo 3 earlier this year.
On the first day of release, Halo 3 took a world record $170 million and by the end of it’s first week it had sold $300 million.
Although it’s not the greatest figure the industry has seen, Galaxy’s total units sold equals the combined total of all nine of the other contenders on the bestseller list this week. Not a bad result for the world’s favourite plumber!
