Sanyo’s Yuka Shita Inspection Robot

Robots have evolved to be more than just a children’s toy. Sanyo’s new inspection robot is a prime example of that. This particular robot will walk into crawlspaces to check the foundations of a building to make sure there is no structural damage or other problems.

Although it doesn’t look great, this intelligent robot uses image processing, collision avoidance and Sanyo’s so-called ‘robot technology’ and can potter around inspecting buildings for 140 minutes on its lithium-ion battery.

The robot has been called Yuka Shita Inspection Robot and is expected to hit stores in Japan next year for a reasonable $9,000
