Children Became Unconscious: Aqua Dots Recall

Aqua Dots Recall

There has been an Aqua Dots recall by Spin Master because some children have swallowing the beads and become unconscious, this has made the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) in cooperation with Spin Master announced a voluntary recall of 4.2 million Aqua Dot products.

It is even more important when we hear about toy recalls as this affects children mostly and they are not aware of obvious problems.

According to the CPSC, the problem is due to the coating on the beads making them stick together when water is added, so if many are ingested they can turn toxic because of a chemical they contain.

If children do ingested the beads they can slip into a comatose state for a period of time, have seizures, or develop respiratory depression.

Aqua Dots were manufactured in China and sold from April 2007 at many merchandisers nationwide for between $17 and $30.
