It must be hard to come up with a great marketing idea for a new film. It’s much easier to rip off a film that has already earned a phenomenal amount of money. Take 300 for example. Zack Snyder’s blockbuster made $450 million. So, you can’t blame the marketing team behind Paramount’s ‘Beowulf’ for copying a few of 300’s ideas.
It’s common knowledge that Paramount have been studying the ad campaign for 300 closely. How do we know this? Well take a look at the similarities between the trailers for 300 and Beowulf. It shouldn’t be too hard to see what I mean!

FXRant recently said,
“Both trailers have the lead, bearded, warrior hero, in closeup, loudly proclaiming that “THIS! IS! SPARTA!”, or, “I! AM! BEOWULF!”
Each trailer has an anachronistic guitar-riff-filled montage of violence, wrapped up with our warrior hero proclaiming something about “TONIGHT…”
And, most obviously, each trailer’s graphics are rough, bold, blood red, and set against time-lapse clouds with lightning bursts.”
Check out the clips below, what do you think? Is Beowulf totally ripping off 300?
