$25,000 Sundae Sets New World Record

$25,000 For A Sundae!

Now, I’m prepared to pay above the odds for a fantastic dessert, but this just takes the biscuit! You may think that a couple of hundred dollars for a dessert is a tad too much, but would you pay $25,000 for a chocolate sundae? No, me neither!

A local restaurateur in New York unveiled this extortionate sundae on Wednesday and has set a new Guinness world record for the most expensive dessert (the previous record was for the fortress Aquamarine which retailed at $14,500).

The Frrozen Haute Chocolate is a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from all over the world. The $25,000 pudding is the creation of Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3 restaurant in partnership with luxury jeweller Euphoria New York.

The dessert is decorated with 5 grams for edible 23-Karat gold and is served in a goblet lined with edible gold. Who knew gold was edible?! The base of the goblet is an 18-Karat bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds!

The desert is best served cold and comes with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-coloured diamonds, which of course you can take home!

This is certainly extravagant, but if you had the money would you buy one of these desserts?
