Sylvester Stallone To Direct Death Wish Remake

It has been reported that Rambo star Sylvester Stallone is going to direct and star in a Death Wish remake for MGM. The original film, made in 1974, starred Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey, a New York Architect whose world was torn apart after the murder of his wife and rape of his daughter.

Kersey then returns to New York City with a vengeance against crime. He becomes a vigilante who kills would-be criminals on the streets when the sun goes down. The film was adapted from a novel by Brian Garfield. If you think the plot sounds familiar, you’d be right as Garfield was the novel of Death Sentence, which was adapted to the big screen by James Wan earlier this year.

Michael Ferris and John Brancato (Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins) have been hired to write the script once the writers strike ends.
