$115 million for Guitar Hero III in just its first week

It looks as though Activision have been right that they could have a record quarter, as they have now released their most anticipated title yet Guitar Hero III. The developer has announced that the game has taken $115 million in just its first week; this is the company’s best selling launch of a game to date.

Activision also state that they are not worried about EA and MTV’s Rock Band, as they believe that Guitar Hero III has a more extensive track list. Activision also state that it is the only game of its genre, but many who have Rock Band would argue with that.
