Some people have been asking the question ‘out of the two which is the better phone the Nokia 6500 slide or classic?’ But what exactly is the real difference or is it just personal preference over a standard or slide phone. Well, we’ll have a look at what’s what.
I have listed below the main features which the two models have in common and there are many which are the same.
• UMTS / GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
• 2.2 Inch TFT Display with 16 million colours/240 x 320 pixels
• MP3 & Polyphonic (64 channels) Ringtones
• Vibration
• 20 received, 20 missed calls, 20 dialled (Call Records)
• 3G 384 kbps
• microUSB
• Games
• Email, Instant Messaging, MMS, SMS
• MP3/AAC/AAC+ player
• HSCSD
• HTML (Opera mini) & WAP 2.0/xHTML Browser
Naturally like anything there are differences between the two models.
The Slide has these additional features which are:
• Bluetooth v2.0
• GPRS Class 11, 53.6 kbps
• EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps
• 20 MB Internal Memory with microSD (TransFlash) Card Slot
• 3.2 MP 2048×1536 pixels Camera with Carl Zeiss optics, secondary QCIF videocall camera, autofocus, flash and VGA Video
• FM radio with RDS
• T9, Calendar, Push to talk, Calculator, Voice memo, TV out & Built-in handsfree
• Java MIDP 2.0
• Up to 310 hours standby
• Up to 6 hours talk time
• 96.5 x 46.5 x 16.4 mm
• 125 grams
And the Classic has these:
• 1 GB of Internal Memory
• GPRS Class 32, 53.6 kbps
• EDGE Class 32, 296 / 177.6 kbits
• Bluetooth v1.2
• 2 megapixel Camera – 1600×1200 pixels, video(QCIF) with flash
• Anodized Aluminium
• Java MIDP 2.0
• Calendar, T9, Calculator, Voice memo & built in hands free
• Up to 300 hours standby
• Up to 5 h 30 minutes talk time
• 109.8 x 45 x 9.5 mm
• 94 grams
Nokia 6500 Classic Downsides – NO CARD SLOT, NO WLAN & NO INFRARED PORT
Some of the differences are relatively small, but depend on the needs of the person using the handset, in my opinion it is entirely up to the individual so what is that you think?
