SSD become the norm, HDDs will be phased: cost only problem

With the obvious advantages of having no moving parts in SSDs, I would say it’s safe to make the assumption that SSD will eventually become the norm and we should start to see HDDs phased out.
I have no idea how long it will take for our current kind of hard drives to become phased out, but I guess it will take some time.
The only thing that has stopped me making the jump is the current cost of SSDs, I normally buy products as soon as they come out but get stung with the fast drop in price a few months later…although I will be upgrading soon.
Let’s hear from people who have SSDs installed, let us know if it’s in a laptop or desktop computer and how you are finding the performance.
