UK Apple iPhone
With the UK Apple iPhone coming to O2 in 4 days (November 9th) and rumored to be sporting the 1.1.2 firmware I cannot help but get excited as this is one phone I want.

Sadly I love my mobile phones as pay as you go, because I work from home I do not use the phone a lot and mainly need for keeping connected when on the move.

The UK Apple iPhone will only be available on an 18 month contract from O2, I would have been happy to pay more for a pay as you go but it’s not an option.

Loving gadgets the way I do, any gadget fan knows how big the iPhone is in the phone world and that just makes me want it more.

Although I have heard many technology reviews comparing the iPhone to others like the HTC touch, you cannot help think that this is going to just be like other MP3 players being compared to the iPod.

What do you think of the iPhone and are you an Apple fan?

More information and to buy via O2

GBP929 (price + 18 months contract) is a pretty big number for no G3.

I like most Apple gear, especially my 6GB iPod mini - especially the iTunes management software.

My phone is a Nokia 9500 Communicator - and as far as I can see, spec-wise, it outperforms the iPhone. I can receive, edit and return Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.

As a businessman, what would scare me most is sharing one noninterchangable battery between my entertainment device and my link to the world. If I flatten my iPod’s battery on a trip, the result is slight boredom - the business side is still working. If I flatten an iPhone battery playing music, I’m cut off for business purposes.

I cannot see a business market, especially if HMCR decide it’s primarily an entertainment device. And it’s BIG compared with devices that do 80% of the job. VERY big.

If you absolutely must have one, some will be available from France sim free. Personally, I will be looking for a small HSDPA Bluetooth 2.0 phone which can work as a modem for my N800. 3.6Mbit when you’re out of wifi range is a heck of a lot better than EDGE.
