While I was at Stuff 2007 I knew what stand I wanted to visit Asus, and it did not take me long to find it although it was hiding round the back, not like the Nokia stand which was right in front of me as soon as I was on the second floor. I knew that Asus were launching their new Eee PC on the 12th November in the UK. There is a choice of two colors, one being Pearl White and the other Galaxy Black, both of which run on Linux.

There are two different models one is the Eee PC 2G Surf for £199, and the other is the Eee PC 4G for £219 which is the one that the guy at the Asus stand was showing us. The philosophy from Asus on their Eee PC is “Easy to Learn, Work and Play.”

The small PC only measures 7-inches wide, but to tell you the truth it looked bigger than you would imagine, but the best feature of all is its weight, only 0.92kg. The guy at the stand also said how fast the Eee PC for such a small processor, this is thanks to the flash-based storage capacity as there are no moving parts, this is also great for power consumption. Expect a charge to last about 3.5hrs
The Asus Eee PC comes pre-installed with the Linux operating system, but the computer is Windows XP compatible. If you are put off with the small storage capacity of the solid-state disc design do not worry, as if you want more storage just plug in a small passport external hard drive.
This is certainly worth thinking about; if you are always on the move and are a light user on a PC then the Asus Eee PC is certainly worth thinking about thanks to it being both light and small.
